The Year of 1940 Ford Woody Classics
Some years end up being classics. 2009 was my year for gold leaf sign and design art hand lettered and applied traditional style, for prestigious clientele. All three were same year - 1940 Ford Woody cars. This display of timeless quality automobile craftsmanship starts with Chip Conner's fully remodeled 1940 Ford Woody with 24K Gold Leaf lettering and oak tree applied to doors, using finest quality materials available. -Dennis Knicely, Gold Leaf Design Artist.

This 1940 Ford Woody was commissioned by one of the most acclaimed art foundations in the World, the Hammer Foundation. Lettering is 12k White Gold Leaf with fire red highlights and black shadow. Design and artwork by Dennis Knicely.
The following are shots of the same 1940 Ford Woody that Hammer sold to Barry Mequair of Meguiar Waxes and Polishes, est. 1901. This was a challenging commission, as 12K White Gold Leaf "Hammer Galleries" had to be removed without harming wood finish. It was a full day's work just to clean it off, a "Sign Surgery" indeed. New lettering; "Meguiar's since 1901" was done with 24K hand pounded gold leaf highlighted with red and black drop shadow.
